I completed my degree in psychology in 1990, my doctorate in clinical psychology in 1995, and an additional masters degree at the Tavistock Institute in 2007. I was appointed as a consultant clinical psychologist in 2001.
I have more than 20 years’ experience in the NHS, working with adults and young people. I left the NHS in 2011 to develop my independent practice in Brighton. Now I combine my thriving independant therapy practice with work helping organisations to embed psychological practices into their day-to-day operations.
I specialise in supporting organisations and teams who work with individuals with complex needs. These needs include mental health, substance misuse, complex and compound trauma reactions, learning disabilities and homelessness, in all combinations.
I am involved in supporting a range of services to embed Psychlogically Informed Environments (PIE) and trauma-informed working into their organisations and daily practice.
I provide reflective practice, team-based case consultation and formulation workshops to a range of statutory and non-statutory services.
I provide training and practice development workshops to a range of services and teams.
I specialise in assessment and therapy for people with complex pesentations, including severe and enduring mental health problems, drug and alcohol use and complex trauma, working in partnership with other service providers.
