Dr Tara O’Neill: Therapeutic services

Working practice

I conduct individual therapy and counselling sessions in East and West Sussex and am based between Brighton and Worthing.

I work with individual adults on issues such as anxiety, depression, obsessive compulsive disorders (OCD), phobias, eating disorders and substance misuse, among others.

I specialise in working with people who have encountered childhood trauma or experienced traumatic events in their life that are impacting on how they function in the here and now.

I have extensive experience in working with people with longer-term mental health problems, such as bi-polar and psychotic disorders.

My therapeutic approach.

The work we do together will be based on an in-depth assessment of your individual needs, taking into account the way you view the world and the environment in which you live.

As a Clinical Psychologist I am trained in a number of therapies including cognitive behavioural therapy, and systemic and psychoanalytic approaches. In addition I have completed further training in psychodynamic practice, attachment and EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing).

I practise in an integrated way: following assessment we will discuss the most appropriate psychological approach (or combination of approaches), and then work within that framework to help with the problems you have identified.

Tara is not currently accepting individual therapy referrals, but you can use the form on the right to get contact her.
